Visited this afternoon with my 12-year-old son, who is very interested in Roman history. The main attraction for us was the promised 3D virtual tour of ancient Rome. This turned out to be a mediocre 10 minute cartoon with no real information about the city. A very large percentage of the floorspace is devoted to the sale of souvenirs, the...

This is an interesting way to spend an hour and a half on a hot Roman day. Its a much more comfortable way to see Italian history than trudging through the dust and the heat, and will doubtlessly keep kids entertained.

Here's the experience:
You first go into a room where you are given a paper quiz. It says that the answers are all in the room - but they aren't (they are in...

The people here are pleasant and helpful. The whole thing takes about 45 minutes. The exhibits are nice. The 3d movie was ok but not great. Didn't learn a ton from it. Was hoping to get a feel for the real Rome but this was not that.
