I really liked this site, I've just heard about underground Naples, but I did not expect even: - a botanic experiment there, - an anti-air shelter/ refuge or not to mention, - the candle passage ;). This could be a bit scary for those suffering from claustrophobia, but, the group I was with was moving very good and it was... More

We found this great tour, availble in English and thought it might be fun. Our fabulous guide, Alessandro was really interesting and loads of fun. If you like history and are not afraid of small dark spaces then this is a great way to spend a couple of hours

I did this on a rainy day in Naples, and it's fairly interesting. They take you down to these underground cellar things where people used to hide in the war and illegally dump rubbish, and then you go to the aquaducts which look quite boring. One of them has a roman jar hanging to show you what it used to... More

great way to get out of the heat when the summer is getting to you! The underground passageways are fascinating and my favourite part was when you were given a candle and you walked through a very tight passageway!

I didn't know anything about this until the owner of my hostel recommended I go! This was incredible! I did both parts of the tour - the aqueducts and the Roman theatre. It was really interesting to me to see that the foundations of a theatre 2000 years old are still good enough for the houses today!

This attraction is different from churches and Pompeii, gives new angle to city. Tour lasted about 1:40 and English speaking guide Alex was quite good, trying to be bit to funny. His English was very good. Tour is divided basically into four parts, first two in underground. Tour starts with decent to underground on foot, seeing how underground was also... More

Found this underground tour pretty interesting, especially how families and people lived there in ww2. Not necessarily a must-see, but definitely worth it if you have a couple of spare hours, plus in a great area for pizza. Be aware that the ground is quite uneven, involves a lot of stairs and squeezing through tunnels as well.

This was a great tour! After a slightly disorganised start, we headed off down the stairs into the ancient channels and cisterns under Naples, originally created to get stone for building, then used for water supplies, a rubbish dump and shelter during the war. At one stage, the tour takes in some refilled cisterns to give an impression of how... More

This is the tour of the underground aquaducts in Naples which were converted to shelter bunkers during WWII. The tour costs little less than 10 EUR and lasts for about 2 hours. The guide, Alex, is knowledgeable and funny. One part of the tour requires going through very narrow passages (2 feet wide), which could add to claustrophobia. A part... More
