The Veiled Christ was SO beautiful; just incredible how someone could sculpt what looked like a see-through cloth over the body.

Just to see the Veiled Christ carved by Giuseppe Sanmartino deserved the entrance fee. Stunning! Also the statue of the Despair by the same artist is incredible of realism.
Wonderful church with excellent English descriptions of all the key works, and the amazing veiled Christ sculpture as its centrepiece.
Most amazing marble sculptures I have ever seen. The representation of figures within fabric is incredible, you expect the clothing an veil to move in the breeze.
you can't avoid that visit for the really unique density and quality of art you have in the church. The "cristo velato" is very emotional.
Breathtaking sculpture of the crucified Jesus covered by a veil. As good or better than Moses in the Vatican or David in Florence. The remainder of the chapel is also wonderful with many interesting and excellent pieces.

I recommend you hire a knowledgable guide to inform and interpret what you see. I was on...
