This museum and garden should not be missed if one goes to Capri. It is located in Anacapri and spending an hour or longer in nice weather is warranted. Lovely house, garden, and particularly great views.

I have been here on three different occasions and never fail to love this place. the gardens are so lovely and the views are spectacular. Be sure to read Axel Meunthe's book, The Story of San Michele, and it will mean so much more to you.

Very interesting visit, beautiful garden and extraordinary house.

House is not worth the trip to Anacapri, except maybe for swedish citizens. But one shouldn't miss the garden, the trees, the flowers and the fantastic views. A nice indoor and outdoor café serves only sandwiches and cakes. However, having lunch in such beautiful and quiet surroundings more than compensates for the very limited menu.

To reach Villa San Michelle, situated in Anacapri, you have to take a bus or funicular(the same price-1,6 euro) from Marina Grande to Capri town and, from here, another bus to Piazza Vittoria,Anacapri. Then you have to walk about 200-300m.
You can admire here the house, some antiquities collections,a little chapel, the gardens-that are gorgeous and a wonderful view of the sea.
There is a small cafe,too.
