Question: how can one really see/enjoy the paintings on the ceilings without lying down? One can tilt your head but you don't get the same feel unless your eyes are looking straight at the masterpiece artwork! Well, it is not appreciated at the Royal Palace, so don't try it! :-) The palace is very nicely done, and although the King... More

Palace Real is a must see the guide book said it gave Versailles a Run for its money ,we thought it was actually better. The opulence is extreme. Some of the rooms I cant get out of my mind. I didn't think I would be interested in the room of Armour,at the end of the tour but don't miss it,I... More

Clearly this monarchy lived its life with excess. Nonetheless, the palace is beautiful, impressive, grand and truly for royalty. There are several packages depending on the amount of time and money you want to spend here. We went for the "general admission only" which got us access to La Farmacia, armory and the galleries. We spent about 1.5 hours walking... More

We did our research and planned for the queues to be quite long at opening times, so we arrived an hour or two after which really made a difference. We went to the Cerralbo Museum around the corner first for an hour or two before coming here, and that was a far better way of doing it. Palacio Real is... More

The Royal Palace of Madrid is quite beautiful and from an architectural point is very interesting. We very much enjoyed our visit and were overwhelmed by the massiveness and populace of the Palace. There are many visitors, so plan on crowds. There are also functions held at the Palace, so best check with someone before planning a visit. Make sue... More

I really recommend anyone in Madrid to do the Royal Palace tour as it is quite interesting and offers a different, calm side to the buzzing city that is Madrid. Even if you're not a massive fan of art or architecture etc, you will enjoy this short tour. I would recommend the audio guide only if you deem it entirely... More

I was in shock and awe at the opulence of the palace and the decor -need to go back to my Spanish history class. It was very much worth the price of admittance and don't miss the Pharmacy!

For 10 euros you get to see some of the most lavish marble and woodwork I've ever seen. Also worth seeing the huge gun at the end of the armory tour. Seriously, that's the longest rifle I've ever seen in my life.
