Not only is this museum in a gorgeous area, surrounded by absolute beauty, but it's just FANTASTIC. This one of my first stops in Barcelona. The Joan Miro Foundation is located in MontJuic, so to get there you have to go to Parallel (L2) and then take, with the same ticket, the funicular to Montjuic ( every 15-20 ' more or less). Museum placed in a nice site (inside Montjuic Park), dedicated to the artist with a wide collection of paintings and scultures. Price is not cheap, also due to the fact that the masterpieces are not present, but the overall production is represented anyway. I've seen better museums, but if you like the artist you have to visit it. More

This museum is a great way to learn about a great artist if you are not familiar with the work of Joan Miro. If you are familiar it is an opportunity to see a huge collection of the artists work in a museum he helped to design. You get a strong idea of the influences in his life and work.... More
