Great way to see the huge cathedral, both the inside and the outside, and with views to the whole historic center
We had 2 days to visit Salamanca with no plan. Wandering our first morning, we passed on the cathedral but walking around the corner, decided to climb the tower instead. Excellent decision! You get some history and excellent views of the outside of the old and new cathedral architecture as well as amazing views of Salamanca. You can see just... More
The climb up the tower is well worth the effort. You get some great views of the cathedral and Salamanca. The tower also has some interesting exhibits to view. The video simulation of the damage caused by the Lisbon earthquake in one of the rooms is also fascinating to watch.
I did the nocturnal visit this month and had to go up 200 narrow and steep steps with a group of around 30 people in order to reach the top. There was a guide who explained some of the history; however, he spoke only Spanish (I guess it was a tour aimed primarily at Spanish tourists) and really fast. There... More
This is an excellent way to see over the roof tops of the two cathedrals, and also see the inside of them too. It offers a great insight into the bits of cathedrals that I always want to see, but usually kept away from. There are some really good photo opportunities all the way through the visit. There are a... More
It is always interesting to have a roof top view over a historical city. This is a fantastic experience. First of al: the roof architecture of the cathedral is very nice and interesting, you can walk between towers, ancient support bridges... The panorama over the old city is superb. During the visit you walk inside the old and the new... More

Seeing the inside of the Cathedral from the balconies, walking the ramparts of the old Cathedral, climbing the bell tower and happening to be there at precisely the stroke of three, it was all really... Visited the Ieronimus towers after reading about them on Trip Advisor. One of the best things about Salamanca. Amazing views over both cathedrals and the town from the air. Interesting historical notes on the building of the towers with a video presentation about the damage caused to them during the Lisbon earthquake. Stick around in the Vault Room half way... More
What a surprise to visit these towers which enabled a bird's eye view of the two cathedrals as well as a chance to learn about the 900 years of history or the towers and best of all to get to see the city from two points. One view was from the Old Cathedral tower and the other on top of... More
