As large as Madrid, but without the gaudy buskers. Beautiful in the sun under a blue sky, it's absolutely breathtaking in the rain - shimmering lights make for great shots. More

The Plaza Mayor is a lovely place to wander, and people watch, it was full of students and tourists both day and night, and has a lovely atmosphere. However, it can seem quite noisy. We didn't try any of the bars around the plaza, but none of them seemed overly pricey. More
