We enjoyed walking around this square. It was a lovely sunny day and a pleasant addition to our visit to Salamanca.
If you visit nothing else this place will make your journey feel worthwhile. A place to sit & stare.
I found it nicer than Madrid's Plaza Mayor. Friends warned us against eating in any of the Plaza Mayor's restaurants
Lovely atmosphere day and night. Beautiful buildings plenty of cheap well cooked food often with free wine or water.
Beautiful, stunning, perfect. Make sure to try as many of the cafés as possible and enjoy the view. It's especially beautiful when all of the lights are on at night.
Be prepared to an experience! This is much more impressive than Madrid's or any other we have seen in Spain. The place is grand!
Found Franco's medallion in north west corner - distinctively different to avoid vandalism. Rest of medallions alabaster reflecting past monarchs. Strolling the plaza very pleasant on a wintry day under the porticos. Market off the northwest side worth a visit too.
I know it's suppose to be one of the most beautiful is Spain, but I don't agree. It didn't help that the city had set up a tacky shopping shack in the middle of it ruining any special ambiance it might have. It's a typical plaza mayor...overpriced restaurants and shops. There are much better places in this city than this...

Impressive square .pleasant to relax ,sip a coffee and watch the world pass by .Only disappointment was there was a book fair set up in the middle that detracted from the overall effect .Good to go after 10 pm to see the square lit up .
