This Cathedral, like many of the great cathedrals of the world, is an imposing and massive building with lovely stained glass windows, lighting an interior filled with small chapels, each one with a number of graves of past archbishops, priests and wealthy people. I would have given this a higher rating if there had been a guide book of who... More

This is a must see. Apart from the grandeur of the cathedral itself there's a substantial art collection in the sacristy - no extra charge. El Greco, Velazquez, Caravaggio, Goya and others. Probably worth taking the audioguide or a guide. More

Visited the ancient capital of Spain by train from Madrid in May 2012. An easy day return journey from the Atocha Estacion in Madrid by RENFe AVE. Cost €20 return including reserved seat. Very comfortable clean aircon carriage. Took Hop on/Hop off bus from Toledo station to top of city. Otherwise very steep 2km walk from station. Cathedral is a... More

If you are in awe of the ancient craftsmanship you will love this place. I would suggest adding the audio tour ( 4 euros) to the 6 euro entrance fee. The stained glass windows are beautiful. The rare gold and silver is worth seeing. A visit to Toledo simply must include this sight. Take a sweater-- even on the hottest... More

Full of Spanish flavour. The artwork and architecture are superb. Look for El Greco's work and the cardinal's galeros. Toledo is a wonderful small city and makes an excellent day trip from Madrid. More
