Lovely clean beach in a lovely area, with beautiful gardens and walkways. Places nearby to eat and drink. Local people very friendly.

Gorgeous beach ... Very picturesque and clean, and in March very quiet. I would definately return to try it in the summer.

Comparatively speaking Sardinero,as far as I am concerned,is the best of its class in northern Spain, from San sebastian all the way to Aviles and Gijon. There is space, gardens, complete facilities, hotels, sports activities, cafes & restaurant everywhere, not to mention the beautiful casino.

This is a fabulous beach and clearly popular without being overcrowded but we were disappointed on our visit to find a lot of sanitary lining papers all over the beach on our visit in September. Hopefully this was the result of some unpleasant blip which has been sorted out by now, if not it needs to be rectified or it... More

As all the northern beaches, there are not many sunny and warm days, but that's also why these kinds of beaches are cool: quite a few people go there to walk in the wintertime. It's a different way of seeing the beach, but I prefer it like that: almost empty, all yours :)

I was told that el sardinero is one of the 10 cleanest beaches in the world and it really is. It's on the ocean, so windy, and the water is quite cold, but still this beach is something you need to see if you're planning a trip in northern spain.

For those who, like myself, love 7ft high tidal waves on a sandy beach densely (yet orderly) filled with well-behaved locals of all ages, this is the place where to go. It's particularly amazing to be reminded how an Atlantic beach-head can shift in shape and size overnight.

Santander is a beautiful place, and El Sardinero is the most popular beach. But before going, you all should check the weather. Even if it is July, it has a good chance of raining!

This spot is very busy during the summer months. There are plenty of buses running past if you are further uptown
