Get a great view of the city and surrounding areas. not too challenging but a nice walk. Also recommend walking around the perimeter at sea level.

...and a laugh at the rubbish rides. A shame that the funicular was out of order when we went, but there was a replacement bus if you don't want to walk.
Free and easy attraction which provided a nice walk on a sunny spring day. I liked that there were plenty of benches to rest on and bask in the sun and the view going up and from the top are great. The fort/castle on the top is fine and provides a nice look out.
Walked up the short way (which was steep) to the top, beautiful views and a sense of the history that built the fortification. One way to burn up that great Basque food.
Lovely views and a great walk! Lots of history to absorb and enjoy as well as great views of the town.
Come up here a lot - there are a lot of paths to wander around and there is a fort with a great view over the surf beach. Also at the top there is a museum where you can learn about the history of the city. There are also some really amazing viewpoints to watch the sunset over the ocean....

When we first looked at the hill we thought it would take 30 mins to get up - however once you realised there is a shortcut up all the steps its only 10 mins and the views are breathtaking (although you might be a little out of breath!!)
the English cemetery opened my eyes to a period of history I knew nothing about. In the Napoleonic wars, Wellington's men fought alongside the San Sebastian force. They also played a part in the Carlist Wars a few years later.
It is a good workout to walk up the hill briskly - multiple paths up and some are cobblestones so have to be cautious about sprains. Small church and a statue of Jesus at the top (with a cell phone antenna atatched). Good view of the city. takes about 10 minutes to get up top
great exercise great views!.. a must on your to do things in San Sebastian... just go with the flow, enjoy the hike and the vistas...
