The entrance fee is only EUR 3 and an audio guide in several languages comes with the ticket. Learn more not only about Marx's works but also his personal life. Don't miss the restaurant across the street. Great atmosphere, good food and wine and excellent service. More

I was expecting a bit more. Only a collection of photos and articles. More

An absolute disappointment. There are hardly any personal objects shown. The exhibition is basically a montage from books and articles, a couple of photos ... Although Marx was born here, a few weeks later the family moved to another house in Trier.  There is a café, Raab close to the museum, a real hidden treasure from the golden times. More

The house from outside is nice than from inside. It is not very easy to find it, or rather it is very easy to miss it as you stroll down the street. Not too many exhibits and information is mainly in German. If you do not understand German, it may be impossible to understand why the objects are exhibited. More

The house where Marx was born (he died in London and is buried in Highgate cemetery). Plenty of letters, books, photographs. Interesting for views of old Germany as well as for Marx himself. More

A wealth of info about Karl-Marx's life and how he seemed to enjoy the goodlife when his wife inherited some money! Pity about the fate of 2 of his children though More

Place is closed for a month for works... lots of unhappy Chinese folk standing around outside. Still would suggest you head in that direction though and go to the EXCELLENT Winehaus opposite and try a glass of delicious local Riesling. I got over my disappointment very easily. More

The Karl Marx house gives a nice insight in the history and development of Marxism. Take your time for the expositions to understand them fully. Audioguides are handed out at the entrance. More

This museum is only presenting through the audio-guide narration, the life of Karl Marx and how his ideas influenced the world in different periods of time. There are no artifacts on-show, and the posters are only helping to visualise the environment of the time. Personallities of that magnitude are usually ideallized. Nevertheless, the scientific approach and the factual descriptions de-mystify... More

An audio is given free of charge, but if you manage try the languages German or English. I did use the Dutch version and 8 times out of 10 the message was given "No info in your language" when i dialed an info number... Seems there is a loophole for such, but that was only mentioned whe I finished my... More
