This is the main route from the Hotel to the old and main town. broad and modern. I can imagine on a spring/summer day this would be lovely (it was -6c on the day I walked )
Great view over the Rhine, as we took a walk to the art museums and galleries. Too bad it was marred by a lot of grafitti. It seems that the city of D-dorf doesn't bother to clean up the grafitti, we kept seeing it everywhere. Such a differentce to Stockholm, that takes a hard stance against it.
As it was the end of November when we wandered along the promenade and stopped at one of the waters edge bars. The bars were all very Christmassy and serving nice hot Gluwein, which was lovely, and had small fluffy rugs on the chairs. The service wasn't so great, but it was really nice to sit there with a glass... More
It was raining and when the rain stopped it was freezing because of the river winds. Has some great views and some nice museums along the walk.
Always interesting to see a waterway in the heart of the city. A nice walk with plenty of places to eat along the way. But be aware, wrap up well in the winter, the wind the whistles along the river bank is very cold!
i visited the rheinuferpromenade on a very cold and snowy day and that made the views even more amazing. well worth a visit.
