We had been to Kassel numerous times and had passed signs pointing to the Bergpark, which we thought was just a city park on the hillside as you enter Kassel from the West. After reading online about the park, we had to go. As it turns out, it is a really, really nice park. The Herkules statue and water cascade... More

This is a truly beautiful park. The Herkules is visible from the city centre of Kassel, and the it's imposing presence loose nothing from a close encounter. It is huge and the view across the city is fantastic. When the fountains have started this park is one of the most naturally beautiful in Germany. More

We went to Kassel because we wanted to see the Grimm brothers museum. Unfortenly the museum was closed, and we was very dissapointed. When driving in the city we saw something that looked like a castle high up on a hill, totaly visible for everyone because of the higt (the Hercules-statue). So we drove to the place, without knowing anyting... More

We visited Bergpark Wilhelmshohe on a Wednesday afternoon when the water 'attractions' are in operation. Also on a Sunday, from May to the start of October at 2.30 pm. We parked at the Herkules monument (free parking) and walked down to the fountain near Schloss Wilhelmshohe, following the water. The walk back up was pretty exhausting for me, but I... More

Me and my friend we went to spend an afternoon to the Bergpark. Unfortunately it was Monday and the castle was closed. But we still decided to walk to Hercules, the northern point of the park and the highest peak as well. There are many ways how you can reach it - you can take a bus, walk the asphalt... More

The Bergpark is a stunning green space of rolling hills, forest, lakes and streams just on the western edge of Kassel. There are dozens of walking paths to take to a variety of man made sights. Nearest to the carpark is the massive Schloss Wilhelmshohe with art and displays inside. There is a nice view from here to the lake... More
