I have a special place in my heart for St. Michael's church. After all I was named after that beautiful church upon my birth just at the end of the Second World War. It is located just a short walk from St. Pauli and near the Landungs brucken. For an unforgettable view of the city climb the stairs to the... More

The statue out front is really amazing! It is a little hard to see since it is far up and there isn't much room to back up and look at it but who doesn't like an action sculpture of Satan getting beat down!! The inside of the church is quite pretty. This part can be visited and a donation is... More

A beautiful spot in Hamburg. It stands almost along from the past. It survived the second world war by miracle. A red brick church from a long past. More

No matter who you are, you can appreciate this very beautiful church. However, as a Lutheran, I found it rather depressing to find out that this place has forgotten what it means to be a Lutheran (a fairly typical occurrence in Germany). Luther would have some very choice words for the leadership of St. Michael. More

The church is one of the visit if you take the Hop On Hop Off Bus of Hamburg. A very beautiful decoration inside the church. The fee to go up the tower is really worth it as you can see the city of Hamburg in panoramic view. More

This church was very beautiful. The inside was incredible. The outside didn't look that old. The steeple looked like it was repaired of steel. It was optional to go up the tower but I didn't. Very beautiful church a must visit. More

Huge barock church, nicely proportioned inside. We liked the crypt, where there is an informative slide show and took the lift up the tower, from where you have excellent views in good weather. More
