Short tour which takes about one-half hour. The day we went (Sunday) also had viewing of kitchen and ladies bedrooms. The bestt room was with animals, flowers and vines carved on the walls. Try to find the squirrel. Doesn't compare to either Versailles or Peterhof.

Sanssouci Palais is an absolutely beautiful villa. The exterior provides a variety of good views, over the tiered gardens or the fantastic figures on the exterior of the building, on those brilliant yellow walls. Definitely worth a visit, and also in combination with the Neues Palais, so you can get a good feel for the variety in types of Palaces... More

We saw Sanssouci in the snow in late March with the marble statues covered in their own protection boxes to keep the frost out, but it was worth the visit. The summer palace itself is lovely and must have been a delightful retreat for Frederick; each room is different with a variety of interesting features, the beautiful inlaid wooden floors... More

There's a reason so many places have been named after it: it's gorgeous, historically interesting and not much bigger than a large suburban house. If you want huge, super-bling, go somewhere else. The New Palace is just down the road. If you want to see an intimate royal villa, a retreat from pomp, where, and importantly, enlightenment thinking was nurtured... More

Sanssouci Palace is world renowned attraction. The reason we were so disappointed with it has more to do with management than the Palace itself. We took a day trip to Postdam from Berlin in the middle of March. When we planned this trip several months before we had counted on warmer weather, not the brutal, long winter Europe has been... The only reason I didn't give this review a 5/5 is cuz on the day we went it was drizzling and cold and many of the statues in the park were veiled. Otherwise, this Palace is a delight. Just the colors make you happy and make for beautiful pictures. There's also the history behind it, be sure to read at... More

Brilliant architecture, lovely place to think and meditate even today. breath taking interior. Love the fact that he is buried with his beloved dogs, they way it should be. grape vines in back must be spectacular in season. grounds lead to adjoining palaces nice family enclosure in its day. cannot believe the scope of this estate and all the palaces... Visited in early March but only one of the buildings was open so we missed out on a large part of the attraction. However what we saw was excellent and the audio guide was good. Best to go in spring or summer.

We went to Potsdam for a day from Berlin. We spent the day wandering around the beautiful grounds here. In the snow it looked stunning and would be beautiful in summer too. No need to get the bus tour as you can easily walk around. We walked into town for lunch and then came back in the afternoon to go... More
