Allow at least two to three hours to do everything at Sanssouci. The guided tours of the main palace do sell out, so be careful to get there early to get your tickets. There are so many buildings and each one has either guided tours or audio tours, included in your ticket fee. There is a special attraction pass that... More

The Palace and the grounds were outstanding. Recomendation when you visit Potsdam. This Palace is a must see, but do it on your own. Do not hire the tour groups to take you. You will be rushed. A palace of that outstanding beauty needs to be seen in more than 45 minutes like our tour guide did. You also have... More

Sanssouci Palace only has 10 rooms and some have been redecorated since Friedrich the Great’s time living there, but all the rooms are still impressive and worth seeing. Our ticket included the Palace Kitchens, the Windmill and the New Chambers. Whilst the Kitchens weren’t much to see and the Windmill a little uninteresting (apart from the fact it was my... More

I had always been curious about the smaller palace near the fountain. I took the tour and the palace is filled with original art works and furniture. There is also a Warhol piece which seemed a bit out of place. Worth the price of the tour. It took under an hour. More

If there is a long line at the ticket office, you can also buy tickets at the office at the park entrance down the hill (below the windmill). Also, buy the multi-entry ticket which gets you into other Potsdam sites like Cicilienhof. More

We visited Sans Souci towards the end of winter, so it was not as beautiful as it would be in the summer. But it is definitely still worth checking out. The palace itself is not as large or ornate as we expected, but it was interesting to experience Frederick the Great's vision of a peaceful summer home. More
