We stayed a week in Berlin and did primarily museums. This museum only has art on the ground floor now. We were disappointed, though the art was well curated. More

I know, I know, I'm filled with guilt for not being more entertained by this, but my favourite part about it is the building and you can see that from outside. The exhibits were a little dry and, for me at least, the fact that I was visiting Berlin and learning about ancient Greece made me feel a little distracted... More

If you're a fan, you'll enjoy it; if not, you might not want to make this museum a priority, especially over the Pergamon and Neus, which I recommend without reservation. More

This museum has so much to see. The audio guides (available in several languages including: German, English and Spanish) which are include in the ticket price are great, it's like having your own private tour guide. Simply put on the headphones provided, type in the number of the item and it tells you all about it. I agree with the... More

The collections were interesting and abundant but it was hard for my friend and I to fully immerse ourselves in the experience because of the strange staff. The museum has a policy dictating that bags must be held in the hand and not worn on the shoulder. After a while this becomes taxing, especially as the bags were full of... More

In front of the building is one sculpture of a warrior on a horse fighting a lion and another of a female warrior on a horse fighting a female lion. The most remarkable feature of the building is the Rotunda, which is based on the Pantheon of Rome and has statues from the ancient world arranged around the perimeter. The... More

The Altes Museum is well located in Berlin at Lustgarten, the same Place where you can find the gorgeous Berliner Dom. This house was built between 1823 and 1830 and designed by Karl Friedrich Schinkel, one of the most important architect of Germany, who designed many neoclassical and neogothic buildings. The interiors are fantastic and the big staircase in the... More
