If you are in town when a market - any kind of market - is going on here, make sure to take some time to wander through. This is one of the bigger market plazas in Germany. If there is an artisan Lebkuchen booth set up, ask for a sample, then buy some.

Since we on a tour, we only had a short time to shop. Who knew that Nurnberg was famous for its gingerbread. It's one of my husbands's favorite, so he was delighted with all the variety. We did some power shopping through some of the stalls. Wish we would have had more time, but it's not to be missed.

We were in town for Easter and the market was open and had Easter goods along with other food and textile items. It was fun to walk up and down and see all the tradesmen (and women) selling their wares. Good selection of brick and mortar stores close buy so well worth a visit.

If you're on the Hauptmarkt in Nuremberg have look at House No. 9, the entrance of the Casa del Habanos is a bit hidden around the corner, but they were voted to have the best selection of cigars in Germany 2010. Unfortunately smoking in there was banned due to local regulations, but you can still find a fantastic selection from...

Whatever's happening in Nürnberg (in the outdoors) is probably happening on Hauptmarkt. It's where the Christmas Market is set up in the winter and there's always something going there in the summer.

Renowned for the Christkindlesmarkt, Nuremberg's market has much more to offer. Make a wish turning the ring on the "Beautiful Fountain", visit the churches and enjoy the market atmosphere any time of year. Tip: the Easter Market during the two weeks before Easter - you can buy just about every kitchen gadget you will ever need!

This was our third trip to Europe to visit Christmas Markets so wandering through Nurnbergs Hauptmarkt Christmas Market was an experience we'd not had at any other Xmas Market.
