I am astonished at the 2 terrible reviews of the Germanisches Nationalmuseum! Anyone who cannot find something fascinating in that huge museum would likely not find anything of interest in ANY museum. That or the search was flawed. We drive an hour each way and visit several times a year. No matter who we bring, there is ALWAYS something to... More

You have collections for all tastes, from musical instruments to medieval weapons and of course, paintings and art pieces from the medieval times. This museum is so huge that it would take half day to see everything with time. However if you just want to have an idea of the museum you can enter for free if you arrive one... More

The museum is located inside the Old City walls, it has an amazing unexpected collection of Cranachs, Duerers and Rembrandts, on the first floor there is a historic exhibiotion. Definitely recommended for art lovers and families. More

The Germanisches Nationalmuseum is a must see in Nuremberg and a great way to spend a rainy day. The museum is enormous with many amazing exhibits to see. Among the impressive things to see are the collection of paintings by Durer and others, the collection of scientific instruments, the world's oldest globe dating to around 1492 and reflecting the view... Loved the array of sculptures, art pieces and musical instruments on display here. Also, the oldest atlas or globe on earth can be found here - before America was founded. A lot of history to be captured here. Disliked the walk. There's a lot to see here and the grounds are big. More
