A great place to walk run take pictures and drink massive glasses of beer a must visit in munich if you get the chance:)
The English Garden is beautiful, relaxing, filled with people yet peaceful. Walking around you pass the Japanese Teahouse, the outdoor beer garden is filled with food and drinks and at a great price. Go check out the surfers, find Monopteros (Apollo Tempel), pass the Chinese Tower or just sit by the water and watch the ducks. It's a great place... More
went to the Christmas market here. very lovely place to visit and walk around. Next time we will do a buggy ride
For me it was an escape from the crowds, particularly as it appeared that every second person was puffing away on a smoke. Being a non-smoker, the Gardens provide fresh air and an opportunity to take in the nature. The close proximity to the older parts of the city was an attraction. It is a place to go and enjoy... More
Nice park to run around even when it was cold at the start of winter. Little wet and muddy on the paths but nothing much to worry about. There's a bit of a beer garden / market in the middle if you are so inclined. Beautiful autumn colours!

We spent an hour or so strolling around and climbing (it's only about 20 steps) up to the Denkmal / Monument in the middle of the garden for a nice view of the City. Had a lovely hot chocolate in a quirky little... More
This place is amazing. Right in the middle of the city. Especially on a sunny evening, the garden comes to life. It is wonderful for an evening stroll(or a jog for the running enthusiasts). There is a beautiful lake where you can go for a boating. There are a couple of beer gardens, ( my fav being the Chinese Tower).... More
It is one of the most amazing place that I've visited in my life. It is huge and good place for relaxing. On sunny days the green is full with young people enjoying the sun or making music. Moreover, Isar river, which passes through it, make the place more wonderful.
The English Garden in Munich is a large island of beautiful countryside in the middle of Munich. Where it to be in London I only could compare it to Hampstead Heath - just flat, as there are no views on the city. But there are lots of paths, places with water, places to eat, places to relax, places to do... More
