The Englischer Garten in Munich is a must see, especially if you have children or elderly people in your group. The gardens go on for ever. Grassy areas for picnics or romping or playing with your kids or dogs. A wonderful stream runs all through the park. It so big that you can stay there for at least a half... More

I got lost walking around the garden. Don't miss the surfers in 2 parts of the river that flows through the park.

These gardens are a walking distance from the centre of Munich, yet provide a great break from the hustle and bustle of this lovely town. Very large park, with the river flowing by, at times gently, but then at one point becoming wild enough for the adventurous youths to practise surfing. Lovely!

Beautiful and thoroughly enjoyed by all Muncheners and visitors. Trails, temples, bikes, beer, oompah bands. You name it, this enormous park has it all -- even surfing! Definitely find your way to the Chinesischer Turm (Chinese tower) and hoist a liter in the large biergarten!

Like Strawberry fields! A great place for a picnic on a sunny day. And the beer garden is highly recommended.

The English Gardens are a perfect spot to sun bathe or chill out on the banks of the river, go walking, jogging, running or cycling. Or maybe just enjoy a beer in one of the two 'biergartens'. One thing you must see while in the gardens are the surfers who surf on a wave underneath a bridge at the entrance... More
