staying here for longer time I had to identify that the city has no city culture. focus is given to the tourists only. Restos serving bad food and far from adequate price and retail dealer are kicked out of the city, big chains are in now; with stuff u really do not need. If you complain its simply not of... More

One of the wonderful day trips you can do in Germany. Well preserved old city. Try to do the Philosopher's walk on the other side of the river for the views of the old town (yes, you need to climb a bit, either through stairs from the old bridge or gradual ascent coming from south. If you are goin to... More

The Altstadt of Heidelberg is quite nice. It's calm and it has a particular atmosphere. Obviously it is better when the shops are open (avoid Sundays and Bank-days, because in Germany everything is closed for law). The Haupstrasse is a pleasant walking street.

its a pretty cool place to walk around and do all of your shopping. A mixture of old and new architecture and the people watching is fun. plenty of good restaurants and sites to visit in one stop shop.

The cobblestoned streets leading to the castle on the hill provide a strong seance of history. The University students and their eateries and clubs make ir electric. The ice skating in the city square during winter kept the kids entertained for hours. The pharmacy museum in the castle on the hill was really unique. This is great city of the... More

Generally unavoidable area, its a nice are to inevitably go to. Lots to do and see in Heidelberg so I only rate this a 4 and not a 5 because you don't wanna spend too much time here but instead spend time in the castle area and philosophers way.

Nice unbomed area from ww2 in Germany. The old town is a great place to walk around on the cobble stone streets. This area has a good vibe and you can't beat the overall atmosphere.
