Great little ski resort and outing . you can even catch the bus from central annecy. the ski resort is small but cosy and if you don't ski you can do plenty of other stuff there.

Get a map from the tourist office or your hotel. Walk up to the Basilica, and then climb the road up behind it to find the trailhead on the right. There's a map at the entrance, and it's easy to make the loop around the mountain - I would suggest going to the right (away from the lake) first -... More

We love mountains and although it's not all that high in the great scheme of things it's well worth the trip. Driving from Annecy town up the mountain you pass the rodelbahn (I can't remember the English name for it) and a few cafés. The actual summit is just before the road starts to take you off down the mountain... More

We had a little picnic and a walk around - it is gorgeous, and tops off a lovely drive up the mountain through the woods to get there. There's a cafe for a drink and loostop - worth a look.

Went on a bus up to the top of this mountain but came straight back down again as it was pouring with rain, cold and misty. We were just unlucky and I am sure that on a good day it is beautiful!

We travelled to the top of this mountain by car which was a very easy drive. there is a restaurant on the top. If you park here and walk to the summit (100m) you can see right across the alps including Mont Blanc.

Unfortunately the day we drove up here it was clouded in but the views on the way up were stunning so I imagine on a clear day the views would be stunning. We were told you can even see to Mt Blanc

We drove up here from Annecy on a cloudy and off and on rainy day, but it was still a lovely trip. We parked and walked up to the top of the hill (where there is a monument and the terminus of a ski lift). Loved the alpine flowers, the cows with their many-toned bells, and the views. Because of... The La Semnoz mountain range is right by Annecy. If you have transport, be sure to spend a day driving around this area. You will be met by gorgeous mountain views and some lovely waterfalls. Well-worth a visit...if this does not help you get into the alpine spirit, nothing will!

Fun time in the mountains. Takes around 20 minutes to drive up to the summit from Annecy. 19 Euros for 10 rides. Can take 2 people per ride. Chilly at the top of the mountains even if it's warm down in Annecy, so take a jacket with you. There a Bambi farm half way, so if you have kids on... More
