The streets the sculptures, the cobblestones, the artisans, the ball games and the metal sculpture of a form getting ready to project from a cliffside, a must on the list of things to do! Touristy as it is it is breathtaking and historic. Loved it. More

A beautiful restoration of a medieval village and fortification that was established as an outpost for the Nice/Monaco area during the middle ages. It is easy to see why this location was picked with it's extraordinary panoramic views of the area. It's now filled with various galleries and eating places to satisfy even the most serious tourist's desires. Just a... More

Love love loved saint Paul de Vence. Well worth the hour bus trip from Nice (local bus). Amazing views from the rampart walls, quaint shops to brouse in, gorgeous cobble stoned walkways to explore. Highly recommend the one hour guided tour - you gain access to two of the churches and appreciate the history of the town so much more. More

Walkable hilltop walled town with lots of small shops makes it a stop in the bus and tourist trail. But id say go late in the day as the crowds thin and try to get a look of the lit up town as you depart. More

Toured the village and loved the streets and shops there! The streets are so picturesque that it takes you back to medieval times, imagining what it might have been like there. Had an amazing time! More

We travelled by bus (1 Euro each way) from Nice for 45 mins. to reach this beautiful, fortified hill town which has been populated by artists but which is still absolutely fascinating to wander around. Nothing here is cheap and everything aimed at tourist spending but that does not detract from the old spirit of the place. Footnote : the... More

St Paul de Vence is indeed a beautiful hilltop village with lovely views over the surrounding countryside but is just too dominated by day tripper tourism to be enjoyable. Most of the tourists arrive in one of the many coaches parked around the village walls. The journey by bus was difficult. We had to stand all the way on the... More

St Paul de Vence is a beautiful medieval hilltop village not far from Nice or Cannes, and easily reachable by public busses. It is probably the closest of the walled villages to those tourist cities, and is given over to servicing the tourist trade. Lots of shops with expensive things to buy, aimed at the hordes of passengers from cruise... More
