It is too bad they have built right across the narrow street from this building, it makes it hard to see the beautiful cake decoration of the stonework. Inside it is the perfect opera building, all gilded and tiered, totally rococo. The programmes are varied and interesting. More

Yes its getting tired. The decor is old. But for me its true shabby chic. If you can get tickets do try out a performance here. Its not expensive and a lovely little opera house. Worth a visit. More

We bought tickets in the Gods (Paradis) for 12 euros which means you sit more or less facing the chandeliers at the top of the building and look down on the orchestra after queuing outside for about an hour and then running up about 6 flights of stairs - but it is worth all the effort to see a stunning... Rambling through the area, the visitor will stumble upon the Place St-Francois with its 18th century Town Hall, or the flower market of the Cours Saleya. Here, of a morning, a profusion of colours and perfumes greets the visitor; while in the evening, the terraces of cafes and restaurants provide a cheerful and spirited atmosphere in which to mingle. The... More

Was lucky to buy a ticket for the next day (helps to have a French speaker with you.) Seated in a box near the stage for Copelia. Could almost touch the dancers. House is small enough that all should be good seats. Lovely experience. More

I liked being in an opera house where I could clearly see and hear all of the singers. You're close to the stage in all parts of this opera house More

Check for Ballet and Operas playing here. Has few events, but some are very worthwhile. More

Beautiful inside and out, occasionally some excellent programmes for opera, ballet, and concert. The Cote d'Azur undoubtedly has the most vibrant scene in France after Paris for classical music. More
