We thoroughly enjoyed the flower market. This was also a great place to buy fresh fruit, soaps, and other novelties. It was always alive with shoppers and located just across from the beach. I would say there were no real bargains found here but that's ok, it was fun to browse. Its easy to find and right next to the...

The eighteenth-century building with the yellow-ochre façade at the far end of the Cours Saleya, the opposite end from the Opéra, just below the Castle Hill, is where Matisse set up his studio when he first moved to the Côte d’Azur, exchanging the leaden clouds of Paris for the blue skies and turquoise waters of Nice, and chronic bronchitis for...

We visited on a Tuesday morning. Great foodstuff at prices cheaper than other places. Good eateries around and nearby streets. Get something from here to take home!!!

Maybe unless you are French you should be...

It is only a few blocks...

We passed through the Cours Saleya a few times during our visit to Nice, and there was something different happening every time. On Monday it's an antiques (lots of random bric-a-brac) market. We also visited on a Saturday morning which was really colourful, there were so many different stalls of fruit, veg and local produce, I'd really recommend coming in...

During the course of a day/week/month, this little street will change personalities infinitely. We were only able to enjoy it for two weeks but during that time we enjoyed various street musicians, flower markets, antiques markets, artisan marketplaces, and cocktails and dining til the wee hours. At one point, we even watch dignitaries from African countries arrive for a summit...

Yes, the Cours Saleya during the day is a must see, but after the vendors have gone and the entire market has been hosed down, all the restaurants, bistros and crêperies that flank both sides of the market, expand their seating to fill the area the market has abandoned. On almost every night of the year, the restaurants are alive...
