It is a lovely castle, with a very nice garden, ideal for children for a few hours to run around and find the "treasures". There are several art sculptures in the garden, also lots of information about Henry and Mary Clews. From the terras you can have a beautiful view over the sea, and if you are done with your... More

Henrui Clews and his wife Marie restored an old castle begining of the 20th century and turned it into a unique site to visit. Both were artists with great sense of humor which you face every where you visit , rooms , gardens etc !!! A real unique sight to see ! A must for the French Cote D'Azur More

This castellated folly right on the shoreline of the Bay of Cannes is well worth a visit. Admire the structure, climb the ramparts and marvel at the story of sculptor Henry and his devoted bride who completed the building after his death. A cappuccino on the tearoom terrace should hit the spot too. More

First: We did not go inside the castle, as we visited wit three young children. But the garden is very nice, and best of all - there is a free "treasure hunt" for the kids. They get a map with numbers to find in the garden, and the mission is to find letters that form a sentence. While following the... More

I was not particularly impressed by this attraction. I think it more suitable for visitors with artistic interest. I nevertheless found the tour a fine mixture of French and English, which worked ok. The sea view is very beautiful and for that reason alone I would recommend a tour, but prefer reel medieval castles. More

Just when I thought I'd seen all the picturesque villages on the French Riviera, I was pleasantly surprised at this new discovery. I took the train from Nice Ville, and within 40 minutes I was standing in front of this impressive chateau (the entrance is right across from the train station). Not familiar with Henry Clews, or his works, I... More

I spent part of a summer (2002) living in the chateau as a student studying art through University of California Davis. The chateau is beautiful, and filled with Henry and Marie Clew's eccentric artisitic details. It was such a unique once-in-a-lifetime experience to live there. I remember eating meals out on the terrace that overlooked the Mediterranean sea. My bedroom... More

I was there in 1974 while my ship was participating in the 30th anniversary of the Allied landing in Southern France, so I'm drawing on memories from almost 30 years ago and every now and then looking through the pamphlets and photos of Henry' art, but if I had the opportunity to travel to France, the castle of Henry Clews...
