This is now one of my favourite little musuems of the world! Located in the pretty little Cote D'Azur town of Mougins, it hosts an amazing collection of the ancient to the modern. From Egyptian mummies to Greek helmets to Picasso drawings. It is beautifully located over 3 floors with every inch of space cleverly used including the stairs. The... More

A visit to the Musee de Mougins is a must-do on any stay in the Cote d'Azur. Nip off to lunch at L'Amandier after. More

The collection itself is worth a detour away from the usual beaten track of the Cote d'Azur. It makes for the centre piece of a full day to Mougins and is a lesson in history through contemporay art alongside its modern era equivalent. All that school boy history suddenly comes to life when you walk through the muesum and you... More

On a recent visit to Mougins, I visited the fantastic Musee d'Art Classique de Mougins. Although the entrance to the Museum is somewhat discreet, once entering the building you soon understand that you have entered an oasis of passion. The mixture of modern art and classic weaponary is a joy for old and young alike and one gets the impression... More

Fantastic museum opened last year, in the beautiful town of Mougins. Well laid out and displayed, with wonderful mix of ancient and modern works of art. Picasso ceramics next to Classical vases and very powerful gallery of ancient weaponary - complete with the sounds of battle! More

An amazing selection of ancient artefacts with modern equivalents interspersed. Where else can you see Julius Ceasar and the Egyptian God Osiris alongside Damien Hirsrt and Andy Warhol in a very manageable, intimate setting? Well worth a vist, it is a real "tardis" inside and the interactive displays are a great addition and definitely not just for children, although I... More

This stunning collection is held in an old building in the heart of Mougins...step inside to find a state of the art glass elevator and wonderful lighting, and "touch screens" too. Awe inspiring artefacts and art..a wonderful Ancient Egyptian collection, and many more "modern" works of art, all cleverly intertwined. Simply superb...a really "must see". More

In fact, one of the best medium sized museum i've been to in the world. I can't think of another museum in the world, where you can look into a cabinet and see a two thousand year old statue of Venus, next to Yves Kleins Venus, next to a Venus statue by Dali, and then wait for it, the background... I had heard a lot about the museum from people living in the area. I found it hard to believe that there was a museum tucked away in the village of Mougins. I thought I knew the village well. What a pleasant surprise. The building has been beautifully renovated. The collection of artwork is vast and is displayed on 4... More

This is a beautifully designed museum in picturesque Mougins with a vast collection of classical art and armour, modern classics by Reubens and Piccaso...it was hard to leave, we could have spent all day in there! The actual museum itself is stylish, well thought-out, 4 floors with a glass elevator making it modern addition to such a historical village. We... More
