Great car museum and well worth the trip. But if you take the tram, be prepared for a good walk from the last stop to the museum. Also, not very intuitive, so get good directions.

We are car nuts, we had driven a long way to get there but we have to say we were disappointed even though we love motor sport and had been looking forward to the visit.
There are loads of cars on display, lined up in traffic jams, plus newsreels and static exhibitions in the Hall of Fame. Plus three automated...

This museum was not busy which was good so we could have a look around minus the crowds. My husband is a race fanatic so he thought it was great. The information is great and the collection of cars is amazing. English signs are handy as a lot of place in France do not provide English signs.

Our whole family (girl 13 and boy 16) very much enjoyed Le Musee des 24 Heures (note new name). This is the race car and Le Mans 24 Hour Race museum located right next to the race track south of Le Mans. We are all fans of the British TV show, Top Gear, and so know something about race cars....

I visited with a couple of car fanatics and they definitely got more out of the visit than I did. The museum itself is next to the racetrack and easy to find and on the day we visited there was plenty of parking. The museum is on one level and includes lots of historic vehicles as well as lots of...

We revisited the museum a couple of weeks ago for the first time in a couple of years. It is situated at the entrance to the famous racing circuit and is easily accessed by car. Parking is limited in front of museum but there is more if you go up the badly signposted access road at the back of the...

We came all the way from Melbourne Australia and we were not disapointed. Caught the tgv from Paris to Lemans and then a tram to just outside the track. Be prepared for a long walk after that but sighns were excellent to the musee and track. After walking what I would guess was 3 to 4 kms we were there....

The motor museum has been completely refurbished during winter of 2008-09 and reopened in June this year. The displays are hugely improved and more examples of classic Le Mans racers.

Well worth making a detour to visit the Car museum at Le Mans; it is right next to the famous racing circuit, south of the city, near Arnage. The exhibits are excellent, tracing the development of the motor car (particularly in France) and finishing with displays of some of the famous racing cars that have competed in the Le Mans...
