A unique three-storey staircaise with hanging key-stone vaulting of a rare elegance takes up a third of the building. Formal gardens lead to landscape gardens embellished by an orangery. « less

Call ahead to reserve a tour time and ask for directions. We didn't have a car, and found out it was much easier to reach than we realized. Originally we took a tram, then a bus, then walked for 20 minutes. Heading back to Montpellier, we walked 15-20 minutes to reach the mall & found our way back easily from... More

I planned a trip to Flaugergues for a surprise for my husband. I had booked lunch but it was very busy and service was a little slow. It s a restaurant du marche. 3 choices per course and when they are gone, they are gone. At 1.10pm our first choice was already sold out. We chose again and the food... More

Charming vineyard chateau on outskirts of town staff and especially the charming eccentric count make this a fabulous experience.

We went as a group of friends to do a wine tasting and explore the chateau. Our guide was lovely, and told us about the family who live in the chateau and then after tasting some of the incredible wines that it makes and explaining a bit about how they were made, we were free to wander around the beautiful... More

After a lovely lunch at the Folia restaurant, we went on a guided visit to the Chateau to learn more about the history of France and the meaning of the term ¨la folie¨, the phrase used in our pamphlet, ¨Visitez la folie!¨ Our guide made the visit interesting by sharing information about the history of the Colbert family and their... My friend and I made our way on our own, by bus. The walk wasn't too long but we weren't exactly sure where we were going. The grounds are lovely, the house is incredible although it is more like faded grandeur. Wine tastings available too. Definitely worth it if you are in Montpellier.

We were a large group of 48 wine students and staff from Brighton University in Sussex, England. We were warmly welcomed by Mme Jozwyk and then treated to a wonderfully informative and 'personal' tour of the Chateau by the current owners son, Pierre de Colbert. This cultural 'tour de force' was followed by a technical visit to the vineyard and... More
