The show "Virtuose" had some good surprises such as an act with cats and the always-good-acts of the Flying Neves (flying trapeze) and Trio Laruss (golden statue). The circus is very close to a metro station (Filles du Calvaire, line 8) and there are plenty of restaurants nearby to have dinner after the show. The circus orchestra is also nice....

After finding ourselves with a spare night in Paris, we came across the Cirque d' Hiver Bouglione show (which had only just opened Oct 22) and decided to go. We were very glad we did. What you get is probably one of the best shows of its kind in Europe and the band is magnificent and so is the building. We've been to several productions and it has always been exquisite.
I wouldn't really describe it as small. Not unless you are comparing it to Barnum and Bailey 3 ring standards.

We took our 18 month old daughter to this one ring circus during a 10 week stay in Paris. It is a nice little circus in a old building built just for this purpose. We bought the cheapest tickets, because everything else was sold out, but found that the seats were still very good because the theater is quite small....
