Very bad quality food and very rude staff. We ordered the menu of the day and the order went wrong and the owner was very rude and when we asked where our starter was he made offensive jokes about us being English.

Provins was a lovely, low key day trip out of Paris. Early April was pretty quiet there and it seems that many shops are closed on Mondays. While the medieval spectacles reviewed by others would appeal to families, my adult daughter and I were happy to just wander around, climb the Tour Cesar, visit the shop selling rose flavored everything,...

Provins is a historical town, just a short drive from our campsite in Touquin. The town is literally filled with beautiful 12th Century buildings. You can park for free at the Tourist Information office where the staff will help you. Take the walk around the town, then take in the performance "Legend of the knights". Spectacular horsemanship set to a...

Provins was a great small medieval town. We went by city bus and just walked around on our own. We had a great lunch in the town center and then went to the Castle. It was fun to imagine being back living in that time. We went in November and many of the attractions and shows weren't happening but it...

The town is accessible by train from the East Station in Paris. One can get there easily within an hour or so. Interesting place and walkable, even in the cold. Beautiful to visit, especially in the Christmas season as the town centre is beautifully decorated with Christmassy stuff.
Well worth a trip out of Paris for a day. Scenic train ride to Provins. As others have stated, there's not a well-marked walking route from the train station to the "upper" city of Provins is (and the medieval town's attractions). The "lower" city of Provins is nearest the station and has lots of charm to it as you wind...

It's just roughly 1.5 hours of train ride out of Paris if you wish to visit place that is less crowded compared to the Paris city. It is not the usual tourists site so you won't find groups and groups of tourists with tour guides shouting through their speakers. Expect lots of walking since you still need to walk quite...

This is a lovely place for a day trip. It's a UNESCO site and has been lovingly restored and maintained. The town itself is lovely for a wander, with a little square with a few creperies and cafe bars - all over priced, but still.... There are a few things to see, like Ceasar's Tower which has a great view...

Provins is a lovely medieval town east of Paris that makes for a good day trip for those who have fully seen Paris and are looking for something different. It's an easy 1hr 25 min train ride from Gare de l'Est (Ile de France train line, not SNCF). The round trip ticket costs about 22 Euros and can be purchased...

Must visit this place on one of the festivals. This medieval city is soooo full of life.. Amazing people. We just happened to find the name of this place while browsing one day trips from Paris. Luckily following weekend was the Heritage festival at Provins.
