We visited Amboise in the pouring rain in May, however if I can have lasting memories of this place as being so beautiful in such horrible weather then it must have promise! It's a very interesting Chateau and chapel (where da Vinci's crypt is located). There is a self-guided tour through the Chateau itself, where you'll find some very grand rooms, lots of history, and see some spectacular views. The grounds are quite nice to walk as well. Purchase one of the Chateau Cards from the Tourist Center for a discount.

Lots to see, not crowded. Great interior rooms in chateau. Beautiful chapel. Excellent views of town and the river.
10 euros to get in. well worth it. Beautiful building. very informative . beautiful artefacts. Gardens very well kept.
We almost didn't visit this chateau. Thank goodness we did. So much happened here. Many kings grew up here and visited regularly. Don't miss it!!

We loved the chateau, the chapel and the gardens -- our first Loire Valley chateau. The view of the river is great!
