We went in May, so there wasn't a ton of people around. It's a self guided tour and we weren't sure what we were doing so we just snuck around these ancient wine caves. It was quite amazing. They have wine locked up behind bars from 1904. There's about 3 million bottles down there. We only saw two other couples... More

Patriarche Pere et Fils is an excellent way to spend an afternoon. This lovely old building has an extensive wine cave underneath which allow you to do unlimited tastings of around 13 different wines, all done by candlelight. The atmosphere is amazing and they provide not only a stainless steel tasting cup (you get to keep) but also a scorecard... More

we have visited the sellar of Patriarche. quite good wine tasting (13 wines overall ) but we have lacked a bit of explanation on what we were drinking, and for 13 wines we could do with some cheese or sausages to create some base to keep drinking More

This is a great way to spend an afternoon in Beaune. It's not expensive, and you get to taste 12-14 interesting wines, plus cassis. Better still, you move at your own pace through the 5km underground cellars, and enjoy your tasting by candelight. (Obviously not ideal if you are serious about your wines, but the romantic atmosphere of the 700... More

It was nice visiting the cave but there were no guided tour and you don't see any part of the wine production. All you see is a bunch of bottles spreading underneath the city. The taste part was ok but pay attention on the bottles you are drinking from and the ones you are willing to pruchase. They may be... More

As a family travelling together to enjoy the sites of what France has to offer this was a gem of a place to visit. Very affordable and the history of the winery is incredible. Able to take lots of photos, enjoyed the testing of various whites and reds was easy to make choices of wine to take home. A very... More

For 10 euro you get to drink lots of very good wine. We were sure we were not going to buy any and the end we bought 3 bottled of very good and good priced wine. And if you don't buy, nothing happens. Just dont go alone because the cellar is very long, dark and creepy! But after you get... More
