I know you can get both Chateau'd / Cathedralled-out, but Quimper's Cathedral is unusual (see for yourself). It is well worth a visit.

The stunning architecture of the cathedral ensures this building makes a big statement as to it's importance, and it totally dominates the city and it's surroundings. It is well worth a look inside to see the amazing roof, stained glass, pulpit, statues, and organ.

Always make a bee line for the cathedral, there is only one despite being listed on here twice in English and French There a number of side chapels with weird and wonderful focuses, one focuses on the various saints and religious. Macabre life size model if Jesus Christ being laid in the tomb worthy of Spanish or Italian churches. Lovely... More

A beautiful and impressive building in a lovely setting. However, it felt quite empty and abandoned inside and the visit was spoilt by the crowds of noisy people within who seemd to be treating it with no respect. There are many more beautiful and quieter, albeit smaller, churches in the region.

This cathedral is quite different from other Gothic cathedrals as it bends a little bit in the middle to blend in with its surroundings. It is located in the old part of town of Quimper. It is surrounded with beautiful olden wooden houses and a myriad of flowers can be seen everywhere in town. Very picturesque! My favorite town in... More

As a lover of the Gothic style, I found the cathedral very nice, but about what you would expect in a town of this size. There is nothing very exceptional about it except for its unique aisle. Still, I would not miss it if I were in town, but would not go there just to see it. The town center... More

It's hard to miss it if you're visiting Quimper because you can see it from everywhere in the city when you're downtown. It's really worth stepping foot inside for 15 minutes at least, especially if you like gothic architecture and old churches. *If you're in the city in the evening, the lights are really beautiful in the summer, so take... Serenely set in the middle of a quiet pedestrian mall, this beautiful Gothic cathedral's architecture will take your breath away. Inside the cathedral is a beautiful simplicity. A historic pictorial time time through the annals of history is a must-see highlight.
