Do not miss this Paleolithic cave. The polychrome paintings are superb. Visit it with a double ticket for Les Combarelles (cave with engravings). Be warned - only a small number of visitors are allowed each day and you can no longer book in advance. Look at the web site for conditions.

Wonderful, authentic, breathtaking. Book and pay in advance and savor the valley before and after the tour. Lascaux is fine, but this is the real deal....a "bucket list" item for sure!

Magical place, and worth all the tricks mentioned before to get tickets. Reserve online far in advance if possible.

We turned up at 3.30pm on a Sunday at the beginning of February- clearly the best time of year to visit as it was free and we joined a family of 3 for an English tour within 15 mins of arriving.....
