...if you are a romantic or lover of food and wine. With its medieval charm, the small villages tucked in between vineyards, the route from Strasbourg in the north to Colmar in the south is perfect for a relaxing couple of days. Skip the pompous Haut-Koenigsbourg castle built by the ego-maniacal German emperor Wilhelm II; instead explore villages like Riquewihr... More

We drove the Alsace wine route from Mulhouse and stopped by Castle Haute-Koenigsberg and all through the vast fields and winery of the region. It was simply amazing and exhilarating. Stop by the side of the road a bit into the field (but not into any vines) and stretch out, feel the cool wind and the earthy smell of the... More

We drove to Colmar and then back through several small villages between Colmar and Strasbourg. Our favorite was Riquewihr- a beautiful, quaint village with many shops and wine caves for tasting. More

Our group of 8 spent 4 nights in Kaysersburg at Hotel Chambard (see review elsewhere). We found the area to be beautiful and fun to drive. The vineyards provide a grand vista when driving down from Huzzern les Chateux. We visited two vineyards; Kuentz-Bas and Meyer-Fonne, and particularly enjoyed the interaction with Samuel Totolli and Fritz Meyer. They love what... More

We travelled the wine road from the north to south and stayed 2 nights on the ouskirts of Colmar (Hotel Roi Soleil Prestige***). We saw all the must-see villages and stopped wherever we liked to take a picture or taste wine. The first day we started in Marlenheim and explored the northern part - to mention some of the picturesque... More

Sorry this review is a little late, but we wanted to get this post up anyway. We took the tour of the Routes des Vins with Les Circuits D'Alsace since it had been mentioned by Rick Steves. Turns out it was one of the highlights of our trip. Our tour was conducted by Jean Claude, who spoke fluent English, French,... More
