This castle in the middle of Kilkenny is beautifully restored. The docents were full of interesting facts and stories. Nice to see a furnished, restored castle in contrast to the remains of so many. More

Of course you must see Kilkenny Castle when you visit. We went in April so of course the gardens weren't great, but I am sure in the Spring/Summer they are lovely. More

The best part of the castle is its exterior - a magnificent fortress with a large impressive lawn located on a scenic river. The interiors at nice, although it is frustrating not to be able to take pictures. The most impressive room is the main hall with its many banners and decorated timbered ceiling. More

I thought the audio-visual display was very interesting. Loved wandering around and marvelling at the amazing attention to detail - eg the painstaking reconstruction of the Japanese flowered wallpaper in one of the rooms. I would have liked to have bought some visual mementos of the interior of the castle - either in book or pamphlet form, but sadly, there... More

It is a beautiful castle and it is worth to visit it while in Killkenny. More
