This little town green is a gathering spot for locals and tourists. It has pubs and shops surrounding it, and just makes it easy to get one's bearings when visiting Galway.

Never have I seen such a well used park...and I lived in NYC. The weather was gloriously sunny & young & old alike were in the park to enjoy it. The greenest park I've ever seen, it is small by comparison to others but worth the stop & the tribute to JFK therein.
eyre square you cant beat it there is lots of places to sit and lie on the grass as it was a hot day we had ice cream it was lovely
Its lovely with its huge square green in the centre and shops and bars and restaurants etc all around. There is a monument to JFKennedy in the square. He visited the city only 4 mths before he was assassinated. There are plenty of streets off the square for shopping and the buskers are a delight.
Loved the buzz around the town. Musicians playing trad music were brilliant. We also had a coffee in a little tea shop down at Spanish Arch. It was called cupain tae. It is a quaint little cafe with lace table cloths and china Delph. All home baked cakes really lovely
Fun place to hang out for a while and people watch on a sunny day. Filled with shoppers, tourists, dogs, local drunks, musicians and lots of kids. Don't forget to visit the Kennedy Memorial plaque to commemorate his visit in 1963.
A great range of gorgeous shops to browse . Lovely atmosphere with young people everywhere and lots of street traders including artists in summer.
Clean and well maintained town square, good feel as entry to historic streets .Inviting gardens and easy bus access to main routes. Lots of adjoining shopping and eateries.Murphy's pub the best, authentic Irish experience.
Good location to get your bearings if you are coming in from the train station. Better location for people watching.
Lively, fun all go area. Busy and a great atmosphere. First time here and certainly wont be the last great shops and restaurants and pubs in the area
