We expected high class music as this concert was in a Church. Unfortunately, we were gravely disappointed. Although the setting was beautiful, the singers were weak and their voices hardly filled the room. When speaking to the audience, they could hardly be heard. Each girl appeared embarassed and uncomfortable in her surroundings. The dancer's feet could not be seen as... More

The concert at Galway was one of the highlights of our trip to Ireland. Tunes in a Church had such surprising moments of enchantment. We were taken by the Gaelic words flowing in the perfect acoustic space. We had driven from Killkee and stayed in Galway for the concert. During the drive through the night after the concert we were... More

I attended these concerts last year while in Ireland and this year as well. The acoustics are fabulous and it features top talent from around Ireland. You also get a more intimate environment where you can ask questions of the performers, and they enjoy the audience participation. They often provide the story behind the music, as well, which I find... More

There is a lot to see in this historic church. Fortunately there was also a wonderful musical event at the time I dropped in so it was well worth a visit. More

I attended a performance of tunes in the church in June 2011 along with my group of study abroad students From the University of Kansas School of Social Welfare. We spent over two weeks in Ireland and heard a lot of great music, but none as authentic or beautiful as what we experienced here. I have advised all my friends... More

I attended The Begley Family playing Tunes in the Church with husband & 2 children, 11yrs & 13 yrs. Wed. 13th July. Arts Festival on, 1000's out on the streets - this gig was not in the Arts Festival Programme which is a great pity for all those who missed it. St.Nicholas' Church is a phenomenal venue for an acoustic... More
