My friend and I stayed in Salthill earlier this month. We had gone into Galway City earlier in the evening looking for a nice Irish pub and just found a bunch of touristy places. We ended up walking back to Salthill and saw O'Connor's Pub. It was exactly what we were looking for....great decor, live music and great ambiance. I... More

Whiole visiting Galway last week we called into O'Connors Pub in Salthill where we had a brilliant night. It is a very old and unusual pub with lots of bits and bobs around the place and a lovely warm and cosy fire lighting with comfortable armchairs either side. The staff were very firendly, drink very good and the music brilliant... More

Was left standing at the bar waiting to be served while being ignored by the satff , the staff were huddled around a portable tv screen watching a football match at the end of the bar. More

I loved everything about this pub. There are old artifacts and antiques all over the lounge. Some of the tables are actually old Singer Sewing machines. There is a large open fireplace with a lovely fire burning in it, and a washing line over the fireplace with old ladies knicker bockers and men's long-johns drying on it, just as they... More

As a tourist in Ireland of course you are looking for a "Traditional Irisih Pub". Had no idea from the outside that this gem lay within. Antiques hang on every corner and inch of the ceiling. Your table may be a old sewing table complete with an antique machine on it. Most tables are lit by candelight but the most... More

One of the best pubs that I have ever been in. The staff are very friendly. Was amazed by the speedy service. It's a wonderful place to have a few pints and wonder around looking at all the antiques. At around 9:30 the live band start playing. The music has some thing for everyone from the dubliners to the doors.... More

When you walk around this pub you would think that you are in a different world. Words can not describe this place. And for such a popular place with such crowds the toilets are spotless. An added extra for me. Great to see all different age groups mingling together. A proper Irish pub with great music, pints and socialising. The... More

O'Connor's Pub does it right -- from the unbelievable antiques to the amazing music, these guys are terrific. We felt extremely welcome the moment we stepped through their door and will always think of O'Connor's as our home away from home. We will definitely be back. Cheers! More

I live in Galway but had never visited O'Connors because I thought it was a tourist trap. Then I saw a recent piece on TG4 that featured a band performing in the pub. I visited and was blown away. This was the real deal. Wow... To think I have missed out on this " gem". Only problem now... The secret... More
