The WMG is spectacular, especially when you think that this country was in the throes of fighting off the British when WW1 was going on. The Memorial is really lovely, simple but powerful, and the number of men who died is inscribed in stone, so you'll never forget. More

Given what this memorial is trying or supposed to represent the gardens are hugely disappointing. Why this memorial was not built with more respect in the Pheonix Park is beyond me. More

The War Memorial Gardens are a really beautiful memorial to Irish soldiers who died in the 2 wars. Designed by Lutyens and located a short walk from the Phoenix Park Chapelizon Gate - the war memorial is a really special place. Set on the banks of the Liffey, another little known park. It is well manicured and there is a lovely monument to those Irish who fought in WW1 and WW2. More
