We went to Garnish Island during Easter Holiday 2012. It was a great trip. The gardens are amazing. You simply walk around and feel like if you were travelling around the world. Some parts look like jungle, with colourfull strong sweet smelling flours that you thought could only exist in movies.

Beatifully landscaped island off Glangariff. Spent hours there with great views. Reasonably priced guide book gives a good history of the island. Garnish is heaven on a summer's day, the boat trip out passes by seals basking on the rocks and then the island gardens are idyllic, definitely worth a visit.

beautiful gardens - great day trip. The trip out to the island by boat is almost worth the trip alone with seals lazing on rocks - a lot of the experience is weather dependent, but the gardens are magical and cover the whole island without being too big. I revisit this place every few years and each time there is...
