Wandered in here one afternoon when I had time to kill and was very pleasently surprised. Firstly, admission is free and while there are many 18th and 19th century paintings there are also modern exhibitions on the bottom and upper floors. The coffee shop is also nice and the building itself if interesting. If you're in the city for a... More

If you're visiting Cork and the gallery happens to be open (and it baffles me how often it's not), go in a see the gallery. Great location, great architecture, good cafe - the art is somewhat limited. But it's free. Why wouldn't you go? More

The Crawford Gallery is situated in the heart of the city, just at the top of the fashionable Opera Lane. Its a municipal building, so admission is free. They have a nice little gift shop on the ground floor where you can pick up some nice prints and postcards of some of the works on show. There are some permanent... More

Excellent sampling of Irish artists'paintings, with detailed descriptions of their work. Lovely old building, restored and perfect for the art gallery. Definitely a worthwhile visit. Suitable for a longish viewing or a quick visit, depending upon your interest level - explore this as a passionate tribute to Irish Artists. More
