Over the past 40 years, Nicky Macpherson has transformed these gardens with the creation of water gardens planted with a painter's eye, a Japanese garden, a huge fern collection housed in a geodesic dome, a sunken fern garden as well as the traditional kitchen garden. There is also a fascinating collection of sculpture scattered through the garden. A DIY tearoom adds an additional feature for a visitor to the garden. « less

We are still talking about Attadale Gardens six weeks later, having enjoyed the whole experience even more than Iverewe, which we visited the previous day. The planting is wonderful, complemented by an array of superb sculptures. And the owner and staff are so friendly! The do-it-yourself tearoom with honesty plate, comfortable seats and plenty of reading material and information on... More

We visited on a glorious sunny day when Scotland looked at its best. Even my husband who really isn't interested in gardens could see how well thought out the planting was and how well everything seemed to blend together. There were no coach parties there so it was quiet and plenty of seats so you can sit and enjoy it... More

Enjoyed this garden, the walk around it and the art in it very much. It was a lovely way to spend the morning. Not as big as some "grand house's" gardens, but its intimacy was a plus to me. The staff were very pleasant and happy to talk about the garden which was nice. More

The title says it all. We visited the gardens at Inverewe and Geilston as well as Attadale and Attadale stands head and shoulders above the other two. We would rate this garden in the same league as Wisley, Nong nooch and Kirstenbosch. Well worth a visit More

A lovely find especially situated where it is. Lovely long walks lead from garden up the valley. Extremely well kept garden. Not well sign posted unless you know what you are looking for. Possible to rent cottages adjacent to the property. More

Near Lochcarron en route to Plockton do visit Attadale Gardens. Beautiful setting and the gardens are a riot of colour during rhododendron season. Very well kept and the ponds are very well thought out and quite stunning. Nearly on a par with Inverewe . More
