Getting a photo on the bridge is fairly easy as long as you are considerate of the golfers. It is easiest to take a photo on Sunday as the course is closed to golfers.

Famous bridge in front of the Old Course 18th tee. The course is closed on Sunday so the land is open to the public. You won't get golfers in the background and might get loads of tourists but still your only chance if you don't play 18 holes or get up before the first group of the day comes round...

like everyone else in the world this is the best place to take a photograph as all the famous golfers at one time or another have stood on this spot. nothing more than a bridge but its history says it all
If you are a golfer you must have your photo taken on this bridge.Early morning is best before golfers are returning down the 17th/18th fairways.
Stand where golfing legends have stood before. This small bridge is the site of many a farewell from the greats as they approach the 18th hole for the final time. It has become the place to be photographed so you might have to wait a minute for your turn.
Even though it was fenced off you've got to walk accross it! Visited on a day when it had just snowed and it was very slippy! Still the old course looked beautiful!
To a golfer or fan of golf, there is not a more iconic image. My friends and I had tea in the Rusacks Hotel restaurant watching for our husbands to approach the bridge. When they did, we went out to take their pictures. This is one of our favorite memories of our trip to Scotland.
A real tick one to tick off in the golfing world , just so you can say " I was there" as the golfing greats step over it on tv .
In reality small in size , but large in character .
Part of the Old Course golf links , but open to public every Sunday to walk on as...

That because the golf course is municipal they have a path you can walk on? It was like seeing the pyramids or standing on the Rialto bridge in Venice when I stood on this iconic piece of golfing history! A must see and do when visiting the home of golf.
Went over the Swilken Birdge as part of my round @ St. Andrews! the 18th is the easiest hole on the course.
