Have been many times with the children. Sometimes very good, others not so. It all depends on the weather and what animals are about at the time. Parking can be problematic. More

Great opportunity for kids to meet a range of animals, feed lambs, ride a pony or even cuddle a snake. Completely free, they just request a sensible donation. Parking is difficult at the farm but where is it easy in Edinburgh?! On Saturday and Sunday the council office next door offers free parking for 2 hrs and its less than a... More

Took 3 kids ranging from 1 to 11. My 11 year old daughter loved being able to stroke Fudge the jersey cow and Red the horse. Newly hatched chicks were cheeping away under a heat lamp and if you were lucky you could catch a glimpse. Cuddle session with a rabbit, guinea pig and chicken was a hit (£1.00). The... More

A farm in the city, Gorgie concentrates on helping city kids come to a better understanding of agriculture and farming, especially of the animal husbandry involved. Children get to meet all sorts of farm animals in their fields or pens and touch and stroke them, if they'll let them! It's a great place to take little children who are fascinated... More

My review may be unfair because it's some 20 years or so since I last visited it. At that time it was small and seemed to be struggling a bit. However its principles of bringing a bit of the country to town kids is to be admired and encouraged. I hope you will find time to have a look. More

Meaning those of lower incomes who find weekends and holidays overwhelming can still manage a trip out. The animals are very well cared for and the staff (especially a... More
