We drove from Perth, Scotland to Loch Lomond over Easter. It is difficult to choose between the different boat trips, so I did find the trip advisor reviews helpful. Also picked up good maps and tips from tourist info at Balloch. In the end we opted for the 1 hour Northern ...cruise from Tarbet. This promised a view of islands... More

To the North of Loch Lomond is a boat cruise service. For £10.50 each we got a friendly guided cruise from Tarbet to Inversnaide where we disembarked and took a 90 minute walk which gave a stunning view of the Loch. There is plenty of options/routes to choose from and something for everyone so worth considering when visiting the area.

We spend most of our time off around this magical place and we love it. There are many islands to visit and some are steeped in history. Lomond shores at the south end of the loch has some good shops including Jenners which often has really good sales and Ardlui at the north end is peaceful and a world away... More

We were on a cruise ship excursion and spent several hours in the town of Luss on Loch Lomond. It was really pretty and the local village and church were really charming. Not much shopping but there were a few small stores. The draw is really the lovely scenery.

Well, this is the famous Loch. The light was great even on a cloudy day. Worth at least a day all to itself- this is a special place. We used the Lomond Princess boat trip and it was top class- about an hour on the lake and it was perfect- it began in Luss. Take your camera. So, whether you... More

We take Sweeney's Cruises up River Leven into Loch Lomond. The loch is deep blue, the air is crisp, and the sun is bright...a perfect combination for a tour! Overhead, a seaplane prepares to land on the loch. We watch it land and then deliver the passengers to a gorgeous castle. Everywhere we look, beauty abounds! Numerous fishermen on the... More
