I chose to go on the VIp Premium Tour where you get a guide showing around some of the rooms you wouldn't get to see with the audio guide tour if you don't pay for the VIP Tour, it really is worth the extra you pay for it, really learned alot about the 4th Marques of Bute which I found... More

This is very worthwhile. This castle was owned by one of the richest men in the UK in its time and the refurbishments he did in the 19th century are amazing. Beautifully maintained & preserved, the 50 minute tour takes you to some of the very special rooms. Dont miss it!

Great place to visit but allocated 2 hours plus as there is a lot to see. Also if the sun is shining it is a nice play to sit on the lawn. It has a rich history and easy to explore. Great for an adventure

Standard entry fee is £11 which is fair, plenty to see, large grounds, The Norman Keep (great views of the City), Battlement Walk, the Wartime Tunnels and of course the grandiose House. The Castle hosts different events daily anda free audio guide is included in the price. Recommended.

this is a castle that dates to roman times with wonderful history throughout the ages. Even some very cool WWII trivia as its walls has deep passageways that were protection sites for the city folk during bombings. There is a very good Wales and GB military museum in the visitor center basement and the views from the top of the... More

Definitely add this to your holiday plan in Cardiff. Perhaps not the most imposing castle, but the displays are well set up and maintained, the central keep is great to explore, and the Bute family mansion is lovely to walk through. Wont take you too long, definitlely worth doing.

Recently visited Cardiff, Wales and decided to check out Cardiff Castle, which was within easy walking distance of our hotel. There are two options. You can view the castle grounds and one of the towers or you can pay a bit more and get a guided tour of the house as well, The tour of the grounds comes with an... More

We weren't expectin much. as you walked in all you could see were some run down castle buildings and a grassy padock. The women at the counter suggested the tour which was about to start, she said it would get us into some extra rooms. We greed and made our way around to where they were meeting, the 4 of... More

Great place to visit. Took water taxi up from Cardiff Bay and returned in afternoon on tour bus back to room. Nice history lesson.
