Went to take my Grandaughter to see Charlie & Lola. The theatre was fantastic you could see the stage from every seat. Lots of attention to detail too. Price not bad.
I don't believe that 'The high level of callsetc.etc' was the reason for my eventually aborted 35 minute phone call at 11am on a mid week morning. I don't think the phone was manned. Honesty is the best policy, not a time wasting pre recorded message.
Have visited the playhouse many times and always enjoy the experience. They have a variety of interesting productions on throughout the year, generally something for everyone. Recently changed to allow you to take drinks into auditorium, which is a positive for me as interval drinks can seem very rushed.
I've been to many many shows, exhibitions and performances at this theatre. The restaurant is very good and reasonably priced. Many of the shows have often stars who are famous
Sweeney Todd closes and moves to Manchester after the weekend so you've probably missed this fantastic show in Leeds but The West Yorkshire Playhouse is a fabulous performance space. I don't think there can be a "bad" seat in the house. I have lost count of the number of times we have been to shows, plays and opera in London,... More
Even for the cheap seats, there is not a bad seat in the house. The charm of an old and established London theatre like Her Majesty's invariably leads to a restricted view, missing the falling chandelier or the Phantom's midriff due to a gleaming gold rail. What WYP lacks in romance it makes up for in allowing the show to... More
Went to see the musical Sweeney Todd at the playhouse and would just like to commend the cast on a brilliant performance. If you get a chance to see this show you will not be disappointed
We went along to see this play last night without much expectation, we hadn't read the reviews or discussed it with anyone. It was thought provoking, moving (I cried), funny, the music was fabulous the story line as relevant today as ever, food banks, pawn brokers, life, love and loss. If you get chance to see it before it finishes... More

Location is the Quarry Hill part of Leeds which is an area at the bottom of Leeds near to the bus station. This is part... More
As I was in the area I popped into the Playhouse for my lunch and was pleasantly surprised. It's extremely good value for money - it feels a little bit "canteen like" but I will visit again if I am in the area. I only had a sandwich and a coffee, but the hot food smelt good and plenty of... More
